VINKOVCI VINKOVCI, Dec 30 (Hina) - "After (Croatian) President (Franjo) Tudjman left the scene of life, the right choice for the Croatian people is the HSP (Croatian Party of Rights) and HKDU (Croatian Christian Democratic Union) block," HSP president Anto Djapic told a pre-electoral rally in Vinkovci on Thursday. Djapic asserted "the voters' support so far has not corresponded to the sympathy the Croatian people has shown towards the HSP," and added that now, "after the Tudjman era, the HSP is ready to assume responsibility for Croatia." According to Djapic, the HSP/HSLS coalition represents "the healthiest core on the Croatian political scene because we have no communist heritage." Addressing the present, HKDU president Marko Veselica said the January 3 parliamentary elections would be a "watershed and have a huge significance for the Croatian people in Croatia and Bosnia- Herzegovina." "If there hadn't been Serbs, communists and Croatian traitors and criminals, Croatia today would be another Switzerland," said Veselica, and added nothing must jeopardise Croatia's independence and freedom.
