ZAGREB/LONDON, Dec 11 (Hina) - A former British Premier, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, on Saturday issued a statement on the death of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, stressing Tudjman "leaves behind him a Croatia which is whole, free
and secure". "From his earliest days, Franjo Tudjman was a freedom-fighter. Later, as Croatia's President, he showed himself a shrewd and successful statesman in conditions of extreme complexity and danger. "His and Croatia's successful military campaign to re-take occupied Croatian territory in 1995 alone created the conditions for the subsequent Dayton Agreement, and so made today's peace in Bosnia possible. "He leaves behind him a Croatia which is whole, free and secure. For these things, I honour his memory", Baroness Thatcher said in the message.(hina) rml
