ZAGREB, Dec 28 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian National Democrats (HND) party, Josip Manolic, on Tuesday announced his programme as a candidate running in the upcoming presidential election. Manolic said he had decided to
announce his candidacy because of the role he had had in the past decade and the current crisis in the country. Manolic's programme has two goals - building a social state and protecting Croatia's sovereignty. Manolic also supports respect for the letter of the Constitution.The HND president believes the presidential position should be a non-party position, whereas presidential powers should be reduced to initiatives, and not include decision-making, which so far had been dominant.
