ZAGREB, Dec 23 (Hina) - Croatian Justice Minister Zvonimir Separovic on Thursday told reporters in Zagreb he would run as candidate at Croatia's January 24 presidential elections. He said he notified the presidency of the ruling
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the government about his intention. The justice minister did not wish to comment on his candidature at length, and also declined to specify whether he would run for president as HDZ's or as an independent candidate. Separovic said he decided to run as presidential candidate "encouraged by HDZ's and (late Croatian) President Franjo Tudjman's original principles," and announced he would present his programme soon.(hina) ha mm
