ZAGREB, Dec 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) on Thursday officially confirmed the candidacy of its leader Drazen Budisa for Croatia's presidential election. The party's Head Council unanimously approved Budisa's
candidacy. This evening Budisa reiterated that in case he won the presidential election he would initiate changes of the semi-presidential system into a parliamentary political system, on the grounds of an agreement signed by six leading opposition parties. Budisa's candidacy has been recently supported by Ivica Racan, the President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and it is expected from the SDP party, a coalition partner of the HSLS, to do the same soon. A session of the SDP Main Committee at which Racan should propose Budisa for the joint candidate of this coalition, is scheduled for 29 December, the HSLS President announced.(hina) mm ms
