MOSTAR, Dec 23 (Hina) - The Croat Writers' Society of Herzeg-Bosnia
on Thursday protested against all decisions harming any people and
any person in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
We feel insulted by the recent decisions, as well as the cynicism of
the Office of the High Representative in Mostar, as well as some
other organisations in the region -- regarding the dismissal of
Croat officials and their being equalised with the butchers of the
Croat people, founded on lump accusations, the statement,
forwarded to Hina, and addressed to the ORH, said.
"We are insulted because of the constant spurring of unitarianism
in the official use of language in the Bosnian Federation and
Bosnia-Herzegovina; we are insulted because of the constant
suffocation of national liberties and rights of the Croat people in
Bosnia-Herzegovina; we are insulted because of the constant
insisting on joint schools, joint curriculum, joint cultural
institutions," the Society said.
They warned that the Croat people in the country had since the
signing of the Dayton Agreement to this day been subject to various
pressures, from the inside and the outside, from international
factors, the federal partner (Bosniaks) and the Serb side in
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"Dayton is being redrawn without Croats and to their detriment, the
basic constitutional provisions are not being respected, such as
the right to choose a school, the right to the Croatian language is
being suffocated, as well as the right to a people's police, and the
right to expressing our personal political opinion, etc.", the
statement said.
Bosnia-Herzegovina cannot survive without the Croat people, nor
can the Croat people in Bosnia-Herzegovina survive under constant
pressures of losing their identity -- some wish to, in this way,
exile Croats from Bosnia-Herzegovina, and leave the territory to
some other peoples, the statement said.
