NOVIGRAD, Dec 23 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac laid a foundation stone for the Karlovac-Vukova Gorica section of the Rijeka-Zagreb highway and the traffic junction Novigrad, in Novigrad near Duga Resa (south of
Zagreb) on Wednesday. Addressing representatives of Karlovac County, towns of Karlovac and Duga Resa, and the Netretic municipality, Miljavac said the Novigrad junction would be of international importance because of its links to important roads in neighbouring Slovenia. The head of the Rijeka-Zagreb highway project, Ivan Prgomet, said the 11-km-long section Karlovac-Vukova Gorica would be completed by summer 2000.
