MOSTAR HANDED KEYS TO RECONSTRUCTED HOUSES MOSTAR, Dec 21 (Hina) - The head of the Croat-dominated Mostar municipality Zapad, Ljubo Golemac, on Tuesday handed keys to newly-built houses to a group of Serb returnees to the Mostar
suburb of Rastane. Ten Serb houses in Rastane have been reconstructed with the assistance of the international community and another ten houses should be reconstructed by the end of December. Ramiz Mehmedagic, Minister of Urban Planning in the government of the Croat-Muslim Federation, said at today's ceremony that "only 28 per cent of the housing fund destroyed during the war has been reconstructed". Mehmedagic said the federal government would in the year 2000 for the first time set aside funds for the reconstruction of houses. "It is time we start securing reconstruction funds on our own instead of only waiting for international donations", Mehmedagic said.(hina) rml
