ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - Efforts that are being made with the aim of reorganising the furniture factory 'Savric' and enabling it to continue operating are insufficient for securing the normal living of 'Savric' workers and their
families, 'Savric' employees said at a meeting on Thursday. After the meeting, some 150 workers set out toward the Economy Ministry, Zagrebacka Banka headquarters and the Commercial Court, where they will hand their written requests. The workers are led by the president of the Croatian Labour Union and workers' representative in the Committee of Creditors, Mario Ivekovic. Although they support efforts that have been made so far regarding the reorganisation of their factory and the continuation of production, the workers believe dodging responsibility does not contribute to resolving the current situation to the benefit of workers or other creditor
ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - Efforts that are being made with the aim of
reorganising the furniture factory 'Savric' and enabling it to
continue operating are insufficient for securing the normal living
of 'Savric' workers and their families, 'Savric' employees said at
a meeting on Thursday.
After the meeting, some 150 workers set out toward the Economy
Ministry, Zagrebacka Banka headquarters and the Commercial Court,
where they will hand their written requests. The workers are led by
the president of the Croatian Labour Union and workers'
representative in the Committee of Creditors, Mario Ivekovic.
Although they support efforts that have been made so far regarding
the reorganisation of their factory and the continuation of
production, the workers believe dodging responsibility does not
contribute to resolving the current situation to the benefit of
workers or other creditors and participants in the bankruptcy
procedure.
The workers demand the payment of August salaries for all employees
until Christmas and of November salaries for workers who are still
employed with the factory, as well as the payment of one third of the
severance pay and securing employment for workers in two 'Savric'
plants.
The workers expect appropriate decisions to be made at the December
21 session of the Committee of Creditors.
