FOREIGN DELEGATIONS HOLD TALKS WITH CROATIAN STATE OFFICIALS

ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) - Foreign officials, who paid tribute to first Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and wrote in the book of condolence, on Monday held separate talks with Croatian senior state officials, headed by acting president Vlatko Pavletic and Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa. After the talks, Macedonian Prime Minister Ljubco Georgijevski said that President Tudjman was one of the key figures in the Balkans, which opened the door to Macedonia's independence. The Croatian state officials also held talks with a Turkish delegation, headed by President Suleyman Demirel. The Croatian and Turkish Presidents met eight times, and during their last meeting in Ankara, which took place in February of 1999, President Tudjman paid tribute to the founder of the modern Turkey, Kemal Ataturk.
