ZAGREB, Dec 2 (Hina) - Representatives of Croatian Railways (HZ) and Hungarian State Railways (MAV) on Thursday held talks in Zagreb to discuss possibilities of increasing the scope of passenger and cargo transport in 2000. Special
tourist lines between the Hungarian capital of Budapest and the Croatian ports of Rijeka and Split will be introduced at the beginning of the 2000/2001 time-table to bring tourists from Hungary to the Adriatic Sea. The MAV will also endorse a project for the introduction of a new line between Zagreb and Austrian capital Vienna via Hungary. In course are talks on the reduction of the time trains spend on border crossings due to customs control. Cargo railway transport between the HZ and the MAV has increased in the last two months. Next year, Hungary plans on exporting 2.5 million tonnes of cargo via Croatia's ports Rijeka, Split, and Ploce.(hina) ha mm
