ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - Italian Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema on Saturday forwarded a letter of condolence to the president of the Croatian National Parliament and acting president of the Republic, Vlatko Pavletic, on the death of
President Franjo Tudjman. Croatian president Franjo Tudjman died in hospital late Friday night. "The death of President Tudjman, the chief architect of Croatia's independence, without doubt marks a turning point in the life of the country and it will spur it to ask itself about the future path it would take," the letter said.
