Representatives of opposition Bosnian Croat parties and political associations in Bosnia-Herzegovina offered publicly condolences on Tudjman's death to Croatian National Parliament's President, Vlatko Pavletic, who is the acting President of Croatia, and Premier Zlatko Matesa. electronic media in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday morning
commenced with the announcement of the news that Croatia's
President Franjo Tudjman passed away.
Radio and Television of Bosnia-Herzegovina (RTV BiH) has repeated
basic information about the death of Croatian President and
conveyed first reactions of officials of the Croatian Government
and the opposition.
Representatives of opposition Bosnian Croat parties and political
associations in Bosnia-Herzegovina offered publicly condolences
on Tudjman's death to Croatian National Parliament's President,
Vlatko Pavletic, who is the acting President of Croatia, and
Premier Zlatko Matesa.
The President of the Croatian National Council in Bosnia (HNV), Ivo
Komsic, said President Tudjman had played an important role in the
creation for conditions for the cessation of the war drama in
Bosnia.
The President of the Croatian Peasants' Party in Bosnia (HSS BiH),
Ilija Simic, sent a letter of condolences to the Croatian Embassy in
Sarajevo, saying that President Tudjman had marked the latest
tumultuous and significant decade of the Croatian history.
A letter of condolences was forwarded by Helmut Moritz, the head of
the International Humanists League (IHL), the headquarters of
which is now in Sarajevo.
The death of President Tudjman, the first President of the
independent and sovereign state of Croatia deprived the peace-
loving world of one true fighter for the independence and
sovereignty of each country, read Moritz's letter.
The Croatian people and Croatia lost a man whose role in the
establishment of the independent, sovereign and free state of
Croatia will remain as an irrefutable historical document, the
letter added.
Croatia's Embassy in Bosnia-Herzegovina has announced that the
book of condolence will be opened in the embassy's offices in
Sarajevo on 12 and 13 December for representatives of the
Diplomatic Corps and state officials, while citizens can sign books
of condolence in the consular department.
Books of condolence will be opened for signing in consulates-
generals in Bihac, Mostar and Tuzla in next two days.
