ZAGREB ARCHBISHOP EXPRESSED CONDOLENCES ON TUDJMAN'S DEATH

ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - The Archbishop of Zagreb and president of the Croatian Bishops' Conference, Monsignor Josip Bozanic, on Saturday morning forwarded a message of condolence on the death of Croatian president Franjo Tudjman to president of the Croatian National Parliament and acting President of the Republic Vlatko Pavletic. Tudjman died in Zagreb's Dubrava hospital at 23:15 Friday. "It was with grief that I received the news about the loss which struck all citizens of our homeland," Bozanic said in his letter. Great patriot and statesman Franjo Tudjman has indebted all of us and earned our respect through his work which will be noted in the history of the Croatian people. We pray to the Lord that nothing of his noble efforts is lost, and may that which he lived for and did contribute to the well-being of our homeland, Monsignor Bozanic said. I also pray for you that the good Lord bestow upon you mercy in your performance of duties you have undertaken b the power of the Croatian Constitution, Bozanic's letter said. (hina) lml
