ZAGREB, Dec 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Party (HDZ) Presidency on Thursday defined lists of candidates for the parliamentary election, scheduled for January 3, 2000. The ruling party's vice president and the head of the
committee for strategy and coordination of the HDZ Chief Electoral Headquarters, Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, informed journalists of those lists for the election for the Croatian National Sabor's House of Representatives. On the top of the list for the first electoral unit (north-western parts of Zagreb County, the downtown Zagreb) is Mate Granic, followed by Zlatko Canjuga and Marina Matulovic-Dropulic. Presidency on Thursday defined lists of candidates for the
parliamentary election, scheduled for January 3, 2000.
The ruling party's vice president and the head of the committee for
strategy and coordination of the HDZ Chief Electoral Headquarters,
Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, informed journalists of those lists for the
election for the Croatian National Sabor's House of
Representatives.
On the top of the list for the first electoral unit (north-western
parts of Zagreb County, the downtown Zagreb) is Mate Granic,
followed by Zlatko Canjuga and Marina Matulovic-Dropulic.
On the top of the second electoral unit (counties of Zagreb,
Koprivnica-Krizevci and Bjelovar-Bilogora) is Ljerka Mintas-
Hodak, followed by Ivic Pasalic and Djuro Njavro.
The first name on the list for the third unit (counties of Krapina-
Zagorje, Varazdin and Medjimurje) is Ivan Jarnjak, The second and
third are Hrvoje Vojvoda and Velimir Plesa respectively.
Vladimir Seks is the first on the list for the fourth unit (counties
of Virovitica-Podravina and Osijek-Baranja). Branimir Glavas is on
the second and Djuro Decak is on the third place.
Two women - Vesna Skare Ozbolt and Jadranka Kosor - are on the top of
the list for the fifth unit (counties of Pozega-Slavonia, Slavonski
Brod-Posavina and Vukovar-Sirmium). Josip Sesar is here on the
third place.
Ivica Kostovic leads the list for the sixth electoral unit (south-
eastern part of Zagreb County and south-eastern parts of the city of
Zagreb and Sisak-Moslavina County). He is followed by Djuro
Brodarac and Ivan Milas respectively.
On the top of the list for the seventh unit (south-western parts of
Zagreb County, Karlovac County, eastern parts of Promorje-Gorski
Kotar County and southern parts of the City of Zagreb) is Vlatko
Pavletic. The second and the third are Pavao Miljavac and Ivan Penic
respectively.
Zlatko Matesa is the first on the list for the eighth electoral unit
(Istria County and western parts of Promorje-Gorski Kotar County).
He is followed by Nevio Sestic and Nikola Matejcic.
The list for the ninth unit (counties of Lika-Senj, Zadar, Sibenik-
Knin and northern parts of Split County) begins with the name of
Nikica Valentic. The second and the third on the list are Drago
Krpina and Ivo Baica respectively.
On the top of the list for the tenth unit (southern parts of Split-
Dalmatia County and Dubrovnik-Neretva County) is Jure Radic,
followed by Ivo Sanader and Luka Bebic.
The list for the Diaspora begins with the names Milan Kovac, Zdenka
Babic-Petricevic and Ljubo Cesic-Rojs.
Asked by reporters who is the bearer of HDZ lists, another vice
president of the ruling party, Ivic Pasalic, said the HDZ
Presidency would declare a stand on that matter on schedule.
