ZAGREB, Nov 24 (Hina) - Following last week's summit of the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in
Istanbul which successfully discussed the Stability Pact for the
south-east of Europe, Croatia has withdrawn its criticism about a
loss of dynamics of the Pact, Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo
Sanader said in Zagreb Wednesday after talks with his Italian
counterpart, Umberto Raineri, and chairman of the Stability Pact
Task Force on reconstruction, development and cooperation, Fabrizi
Saccomani.
"We asserted that bilateral cooperation was in an environment of
friendship, and we received with satisfaction information about
achievements of the Stability Pact Task Force on reconstruction,
development and cooperation ," Sanader said.
He expressed hope that Croatia will be able to find its place in the
programme of co-financing of projects submitted by member-
countries.
Sanader stressed that he and the Italian officials had harmonised
two bilateral agreements - on military cooperation and on the
maintenance of Italian military cemeteries in Croatia, which are
ready for signing. He said a meeting on exchanging ratification
documents of the signed Agreement on Social Insurance had also been
agreed on.
The Croatian side suggested the re-establishment of a ferry service
between Dubrovnik and Bari which was severed during NATO attacks on
Yugoslavia.
Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Raineri reiterated Italy's
readiness to help Croatia in getting closer to European and
Atlantic associations and added that Italy fully supported such
Croatia's aspirations.
Sanader informed the Italian officials "about the situation in
Croatia and the very serious health condition of President
Tudjman".
Raineri expressed hope President Tudjman would show strength in
fighting his illness, and that Croatia would with maturity overcome
the difficult situation it has found itself in.
