SPLIT SPLIT, Dec 1 (Hina) - "Angie" or "Angel Dust" are some of the names for a heavy hallucinogenic synthetic drug called PCP (Phencyclidine), and only lately has been discovered that the drug is in use in the southern Adriatic city
of Split, the head of the Split Dalmatia County's Addiction Institute of "Sveti Kajo", Anita Cudina. "Angel Dust" is crystallised white powder used as an anaesthetic in veterinary medicine. The abuse of PCP causes heavy addiction with humans. If consumed in small dosage, the drug causes same effects as marijuana, but larger doses cause psychotic schizoid state of mind, lack of balance and orientation in space, and aggressive behaviour, Cudina said. She added that cases of PCP use were also marked in Varazdin County. About 30 registered users were 17 years old, Cudina said. It is believed that PCP arrived to Croatia from the Czech Republic and Poland.(hina) it
