HDZ PRESIDENCY DISCUSSES INSTITUTE OF TEMPORARY DISABILITY

ZAGREB, Nov 23 (Hina) - At a session held on Tuesday, Presidential Chief-of-Staff Ivica Kostovic informed members of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Presidency about the condition of President Franjo Tudjman, HDZ vice-president Zlatko Canjuga, who chaired today's session, told a news conference. The party presidency unanimously supported a draft constitutional bill on temporary disability of the President of the Republic to perform his duty and authorised Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic and Vice-President Vladimir Seks to resume talks with the Opposition leaders as instructed.

The party presidency unanimously supported a draft constitutional bill on temporary disability of the President of the Republic to perform his duty and authorised Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic and Vice-President Vladimir Seks to resume talks with the Opposition leaders as instructed. #L# One should have faith and hope that the President's condition will improve, Canjuga said, adding the HDZ Presidency would carefully follow the President's condition. Today's session did not discuss the election date, and the only item on the agenda was the draft constitutional bill on temporary disability of the President of the Republic, HDZ vice-president Vladimir Seks told reporters. Seks also informed reporters about the course of talks he held this morning with members of a working group in charge of drawing up the bill on temporary disability - Luka Trconic of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS), Mato Arlovic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Anto Djapic of the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP). The HDZ official said they had agreed on the most important questions and that some minor issues remained to be resolved. The Opposition Six have given up their request that the House of Representatives establish the President's temporary disability and accepted the HDZ proposal that it be established by the Constitutional Court at the request of the Government.
