The waves were caused by gale-force winds reaching speeds of up to
130 kilometres per hour.
The entire waterfront is covered in dirt and sand brought on by the
waves.
Employees of the Split harbour management and fishermen said they
could not remember a storm lasting as long as Friday's did, almost
for ten hours.
