Susak, an island almost made out of sand, covered with reeds and
untended vineyards, is today almost completely deserted. There are
only about 200 inhabitants on it.
A large number of former Susak residents and their descendants live
in the United States. The book, now published in the English
language, with the support of the "Matica Iseljenika", an
organisation for the Croatian Diaspora, will be handed over to each
resident of Susak and there are plans to distribute this novel also
on the American continent.
Zdravko Basaric was born in Zagreb 1970.
