Minister Miljavac said the project for the manufacturing of the gun
had been eight years in the making in cooperation with the Ministry
of Defence. "The fact that the gun also broke onto the demanding
American market indicates that it is a product of high quality," he
said.
For this reason, he added, the Croatian army will systematically
replace sidearms with "Hrvatski Samokres 2000".
Expressing satisfaction with today's visit to the I.M. Metal plant,
Ambassador Montgomery said the launching of the gun on the U.S.
market would further advance trade relations between the two
countries.
Following a demonstration and trial shooting, Miljavac and
Montgomery viewed an "M90" ammunition plant in Duga Resa.
