VUKOVAR, Nov 12 (Hina) - The OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities, Max van der Stoel, on Friday held talks with Vukovar-Sirmium County Prefect Rudolf Koenig, behind the closed doors. After the meeting, the official of the
Organisation for the Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) expressed satisfaction with the talks saying that County Prefect had given him information on the situation in the economy and privatisation as well as in the construction of new residential facilities in Vukovar in order to speed up the return. Max van der Stoel described inter-ethnic relations as an important factor in the building of a multiethnic society. Prior to the meeting with Prefect Koenig, in Vukovar Max van der Stoel held a meeting with the Joint Council of (Serb) municipalities, Milos Vojnovic, and the two discussed the implementation of the Amnesty Act and multiethnic incidents

After his stay in Vukovar, the OSCE official travelled to the town
of Erdut to attend the ceremony of marking the anniversary of the
signing of the Erdut Agreement on the reintegration of the Croatian
Danube River Area.
