SPLIT FOR SAYING PRAYERS FOR PEACE SPLIT, Oct 31 (Hina) - An interreligious gathering was held in the Croatian coastal city of Split on Sunday when representatives of a few religious communities prayed for peace. This event, organised
by the Split-based Franciscan Institute for Culture of Peace, is cherishing the tradition established by the interreligious meeting, convened by Pope John Paul II in Assisi 1986 on the occasion of the World Day of Prayer for Peace. On Sunday prayers for peace were said by the Auxiliary Bishop of Split, Marin Barisic, Split Imam Asim Efendi Tarovic, Serb Orthodox Chruch's representative, layman Radomir Jagodic, the chairwoman of the Macedonian Orthodox community in this city, Ivona Music Nedelkovska. Friars and citizens-believers joined them as well. In addition, a Jewish prayer for peace was also read, whereas the Franciscan Institute's head Bozo Vuleta read prayers of other religion
