CROATIAN RADIO MOSTAR GOES ON AIR

SARAJEVO, Oct 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Radio Mostar is allowed to go on air as of October 27, after a broadcasting ban had been imposed against it on October 15, the Independent Media Commission (IMC) reported in Sarajevo Wednesday. The radio station was temporarily prohibited from airing due to its reporting on events in the southern Bosnia-Herzegovina town of Mostar when members of the Stabilisation Force conducted an operation in the town searching for evidence on activities directed against the Dayton Agreement, including illegal activities of intelligence services. The IMC assessed that the Croatian Radio Mostar's reports were unobjective. The radio station also called Mostar's population to stage protests. The IMC main director issued a permit for the continuation of airing after the Radio Mostar accepted to implement changes in its programme and harmonise its activities with existing editorial policies in Bosnia-Hercegovina. The changes include interviews with elected officials representing all three constituent nations in Bosnia-Herzegovina and regular interviews with representatives of the international community. The IMC will continue to monitor Radio Mostar's activities, the statement read. (hina) it mm
