SARAJEVO, Oct 15 (Hina) - Mostar-based Croatian Radio was given a 90-day broadcasting ban effective today, the International Media Commission (IMC) in Bosnia-Herzegovina said in a statement on Friday. The decision was reached by IMC
director Krister Thelin after consultations with other IMC officials. The ban was given due to the radio station's repeated airing on 14 October of calls by the local Croatian Veterans and Invalids of the Homeland War association to actions which would endanger SFOR's members. Those calls were broadcast during the time SFOR's soldiers were searching the premises of a building in which illegally-possessed weaponry was hidden, the statement reminded. The IMC said the ban could be reduced if it were established that the radio station had taken steps to ensure compliance with rules and regulations valid for media in Bosnia.(hina) ha
