SECOND GENERATION OF WAR SCHOOL START CLASSES

ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - The classes of the second generation of the war school "Ban Josip Jelacic", the highest military academy in the Croatian Armed Forces (OSRH), officially started on Monday. The students - 13 high officers of the Croatian Armed Forces and the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), were addressed by Deputy Defence Minister Kresimir Cosic and the head of the Main Staff, Admiral Davor Domazet, who said their being admitted to the war school was the acknowledgement of their contribution in the Homeland War. Presenting the students and the war school, Commander Lieutenant General Franjo Feldi said the 13 members of the second generation would adopt modern military skills and knowledge during 1,242 classes. They will be taught by top military and civilian lecturers and are also to pay visits abroad, including an audience with the Holy Father, Feldi said. The students will acquire knowledge not only about the military but also about the economic and political strategies, Admiral Domazet said. The second generation will be trained and educated for the 21st century, he added. Recalling that Croatian generals had acquired their war skills in war, Deputy Defence Minister Kresimir Cosic said the first generation of the War School "Ban Josip Jelacic", established last year, successfully completed their education.
