VARES BEGIN ON CARITAS PREMISES VARES, Sept 20 (Hina) - Croat students in Vares, central Bosnia, on Monday commenced lessons in the Caritas building after the Zenica-Doboj Canton authorities abolished the only school in the region
which had lessons in the Croatian language just prior to the beginning of the school year. Lessons in the Caritas building will be attended by 204 Croat students while there are another 35 children enrolled in four regional schools. Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina were according to the 1991 Population Census the majority population in Vares Municipality. During the war, they were expelled by the Army of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
