ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - The Croatian Government Council for
Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the
Former Yugoslavia on Friday held a session closed to the public
which, Justice Minister Zvonimir Separovic said, discussed the
Mladen Naletilic Tuta case.
Naletilic's extradition to The Hague-based Tribunal was today
okayed by the Croatian Supreme Court.
Asked to comment on today's session, Minister Separovic said the
Council would take a position "on the matter" on Monday.
Asked whether that meant Naletilic would not be extradited over the
weekend, Separovic said he could not speculate.
He added he had been informed about Naletilic's condition in the
wake of yesterday's hospitalisation for heart trouble.
"We are taking care of Naletilic's safety, and rest assured that on
Monday we will notify The Hague Tribunal about the decision of the
Supreme Court and Croatia's authorities regarding this case," the
minister of justice said.
He added he would request that Naletilic's condition be supervised
by an international team of doctors.
Separovic said a complaint to the Constitutional Court under the
law did not delay extradition, but "is a factor which must be
considered."
Naletilic's attorney Kresimir Krsnik today announced a
constitutional complaint regarding the extradition decision.
Attending today's session were also Foreign Minister Mate Granic,
Interior Minister Ivan Penic, Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac, and
the head of the Croatian Intelligence Service, Miroslav Tudjman.
None wanted to make comments after the session.
