ZAGREB, Oct 4 (Hina) - The "Lira" mixed choir this year marks a grand jubilee - 45 years since its establishment and activities in promoting and strengthening cultural ties between Croatia and Jews through music. This traditional
choir nurtures all forms of Jewish choral music, composition by Croatian composers and Croat folklore songs. The tradition will continue with tours in Austria and Germany. The tour begins in Vienna where "Lira" is to perform in the Jewish museum, one of the most renowned European Jewish museums. The choir on October 6 will participate at a commemoration for the victims of the former concentration camp Dachau. The current tour has been organised by Croat diplomatic representative offices in Vienna, Munich, and Berlin with support from Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader and the Croatian and Jewish communities in the relevant cities.(hina) sp/ha
