ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - The state agency for the rehabilitation of banks and security of savings deposits (DAB) on Friday began to pay back deposits to depositors with banks which have filed for bankruptcy. The deposits valued from
30,000 to 50,000 kuna (US$ 4,110 to 6,850) are being paid out for savers with Glumina Bank, Gradska Banka Osijek, Ilirija Banka Zagreb, Komercijalna Banka Zagreb, and Zupanjska Banka Zupanja. The total amount of about 355 million kuna (48.6 million dollars) is to be paid to 8,824 depositors. According to the agency's figures, there are about 118,000 savers who had term deposits with the above mentioned banks, and they should receive 3.11 billion kuna (426 million dollars) via the DAB agency.
