MOSTAR, Sept 28 (Hina) - The remnants of one exploded and of one partially exploded explosive device were discovered at the site of a blast which rocked southern Bosnian town Mostar's municipality Southeast on Tuesday morning. According to a local police statement, the explosion took place in the district of Ilici at 10.05 AM, and lightly injured a member of the Spanish brigade of NATO's peace-keeping Stabilisation Force (SFOR) and a local police officer who were safeguarding a Muslims' visit to the district. The part of Mostar rocked by the explosion was blocked by local police. Armoured personnel carriers and SFOR members have also been deployed there. International organisations in Mostar have declined to make any comments so far. Mostar Mayor Ivan Prskalo's Office harshly condemned and regretted the incident, reminding that Muslim displaced persons were today supposed to return to Ilici. The Office says in a statement the explosion was directed against all Mostar residents, as well as against the Croat people, because, it adds, the incident throws a shadow on the successful returns of more than 800 Serb and Muslim families to the western, Croat- populated part of the town, without any incident. The Mayor's Office urged a speedy and professional investigation of all the circumstances of today's explosion. The Office also expressed hope the explosion will not slow down the return, and supported the implementation of Annexe Seven of the Dayton peace agreement, which regulates the return of displaced persons.
