KOSOVO POLJE, Aug 6 (Hina) - Thirteen Albanians, killed by Serbian forces at the beginning of the NATO operation in Yugoslavia, were buried on Thursday in Kosovo Polje, six kilometres west of the Kosovo capital Pristina. According to
Kosovo Albanian sources, 119 ethnic Albanians were killed in Kosovo Polje, a municipality which has a mixed population. The president of the Kosovo committee for the protection of human rights and freedoms, Pajazit Nushi, said the victims had been killed in what was believed to be one of the most massive executions. Serbian forces burned all bodies after the massacre, said witness Sedulah Rexhepi. The mixed ethnic composition makes Kosovo Polje one of the areas burdened with major political tensions.
