PROMDEI BANK OWNER DEDIC KILLED IN ZAGREB

ZAGREB ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - The Zagreb police on Saturday evening reported the owner of Promdei bank, Ibrahim Dedic, born in 1947, was killed in the evening hours. Speaking to reporters in Zagreb on Sunday, the deputy head of the crime department, Josip Begovic, said Dedic was killed around 10.30pm in front of the door to the building he lived in in Ivekoviceva Street 11. According to the police report, one or more murderers waited for the banker coming out of the building and shot him dead with three hits from an as yet undetermined firearm. After the murder, the culprits ran away in a car, which the police found last evening and believe to be the murderers' car. Begovic said the crime department was taking intensive measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the murder and at finding the culprit. He also stressed he did not know whether lately Dedic had contacted the police in search of protection.(hina)
