MOSTAR, June 30 (Hina) - The High international Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carlos Westendorp, confirmed at Wednesday's news conference in Mostar that the European Union had suggested Wolfgang Petrisch as his successor.
Petrisch is an Austrian diplomat who was European Union's special envoy for Kosovo. According to Westendorp, Petrisch has not yet officially been appointed as High representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina as the procedure for the appointment has not been completed. The EU suggestion must first be confirmed by all members of the Peace Implementation Conference, followed by the United Nations Security Council. Westendorp said Petrisch was a very appropriate candidate.
