ZADAR, June 25 (Hina) - The Zadar County Court panel of judges on Friday accepted an appeal by the defence team of Croatian soccer championship umpire Reno Sinovcic, and released him from detention. Sinovcic was apprehended on June 12
for suspicion of having committed the crime of extortion. He is suspected of having illegally renting business premises to a Zadar resident. The premises are owned by the "Tankerska plovidba" company. According to the first decision by the investigative judge, Sinovcic was to be detained until June 28. A second decision extended Sinovcic's detention time until July 11, which the defence team appealed. Sinovcic was released Friday. According to the Zadar County State Attorney, Ivan Galovic, said investigative proceedings against Sinovcic, a "Tankerska plovidba" employee and a former employee of the company, are ongoing.(hina) lml
