DUBROVNIK DUBROVNIK, June 24 (Hina) - United States Immigration Secretary Doris Meissner on Thursday visited the site near southern Croatian port Dubrovnik where former U.S. Trade Secretary Ron Brown and his assistant, Meissner's
husband Charles, were killed in a plane crash in 1996. Croatian President Franjo Tudjman decorated the late Charles Meissner with the Order of Prince Branimir. The decoration was presented to his widow by Tudjman's envoy Ivic Pasalic. Charles Meissner was greatly responsible for an agreement which U.S. company "Enron" and Croatia's power utility company "Hrvatska Elektroprivreda" signed in Dubrovnik on Thursday for the building and use of a gas thermal power plant north of Zagreb.
