Zagreb's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, while their patient, a 71-year-old volunteer, was at Zagreb's Rebro Hospital, on the other end of the city. Until today, the adjustment of pacemakers could be carried out only in several centres for electro-stimulation of the heart in Croatia, with patients having to come to those centres. The project of teleprogramming was started two years ago by the Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet) and the Clinic for Heart and Blood Vessel Diseases of the Medical Faculty of Rebro Hospital. Computing, while their patient, a 71-year-old volunteer, was at

patients with pacemakers. The patient is enabled to control his
pacemaker in a local clinic without any special charges or
efforts.
The application of the new technology means that patients will no
longer have to travel to the centres for the electro-stimulation of
the heart, to have their pacemakers adjusted, a procedure which
lasts only a few minutes.
As of now, for adjusting their pacemakers they will need only
software - the Internet.
