ZAGREB, June 14 (Hina) - Representatives of Dayton's and Zagreb's
chambers of commerce on Monday signed an agreement on business
cooperation which would promote the three-year-long cooperation
between the United States and Croatia.
The agreement also includes the exchange of information and data on
companies interested in possible partnerships and investments,
president of the Zagreb Chamber of Commerce Vjekoslav Tomasic and
Dayton Mayor Michael Turner said after the signing of the
agreement.
The two chambers expect the United States to make five to six
investments in Zagreb's economy in the next three to five years.
Both parties are expected to realise about 10 export programmes in
the same period.
In line with the previously agreed exchange of experts of the two
chambers, representative of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Harold
Kaplan will be staying in Croatia until June 22.
The exchange of experts aims at familiarising representatives of
the two chambers with the work and the organisation of the two
chambers. The exchange will also promote business connections
between companies from the two cities. During his visit, Kaplan
will present many Croatian companies with concrete cooperation
proposals in the fields of metal-working industry, engineering
industry, building trade, etc.
Dayton is very significant for Zagreb, particularly because of its
high level of technological development, and very strong military
and metal industries. Croatia's metallurgy is in bad shape, so we
are looking forward to joint projects in that field as well, Tomasic
concluded.
