VENICE, June 13 (Hina) - Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic visited Venice earlier this week to discuss Croatia's participation in "Marco Polo Between Forts and Ports", a European Union- and UNESCO-financed project gathering
Mediterranean countries. Biskupic held talks with Angelo Marcolo, the director of UNESCO's Venice-based Regional Office for Science and Technology, and a Venice mayor envoy. The aim of the Marco Polo project is to promote Mediterranean culture by creating a cultural-tourist-economic network, on the basis of the joint heritage of Mediterranean countries. Participating countries will hold the first meeting in Venice between June 24 and 27, while the next one is to be held in the southern Croatian port of Dubrovnik next spring.(hina) ha
