ZAGREB, June 10 (Hina) - The prices of industrial products in Croatia in May this year were 0.1 per cent lower than in the month before, whereas in relation to the same month in 1998, they were higher by 1.7 per cent. In comparison to
the first five months of 1998, the prices of industrial products rose by 0.8 per cent, the State Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday. According to the main industry categories, the prices of power were 1.2 per cent higher in relation to April, whereas the prices of capital products and end products for mass consumption rose by 1.1 and 0.1 per cent respectively. In the same period, the prices of intermediate and end products for mass consumption were on the average lower by 0.5 per cent. Price increases were registered in oil and gas extraction, the
production of radio, television and communication equipment,
leather processing, the production of accessories and footwear,
the production of medical, precise and optical instruments and
watches, wood processing, the production of metal, machines and
devices, and in the extraction of other minerals.
Prices went down in the production of chemicals, rubber and plastic
products, food and drinks, coal extraction, the production of other
non-metal mineral products, electric equipment, appliances and
clothing.
