2,245 EXHIBITORS FROM 41 COUNTRIES PARTICIPATE AT ZAGREB FAIR

ZAGREB, April 21 (Hina) - Six international specialised fairs to take place at the Zagreb Fair from April 26 to 30 will gather 2,245 exhibitors from 41 countries. The number of exhibitors and the exhibition room (120 squared metres) are in average 15 per cent smaller than previous fairs, which, considering the economic situation and ongoing NATO attacks on neighbouring Yugoslavia, is satisfactory, Zagreb Fair director Jurica Pavelic told reporters on Wednesday. The fair exhibitions are expected to be opened by Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa. Every exhibition will be followed by consultations, symposiums, round-table conferences and presentations. Zagreb Fair officials underlined talks of Government representatives with craftsmen and business people, to be led by Economy Minister Nenad Porges, the quality medal awards for the best food products, and the "Euro, Europe and Croatia" international conference. The officials also announced a presentation of an award to the best Croatian entrepreneur, presented by the Economy Ministry, and other awards -- best handicraftsman, profession teacher, student and best crafts school. According to assessments, some 150,000 visitors are expected to attend the fairs at which they will see and taste numerous new products, entertainment programmes and games. (hina) lml jn
