In order to prevent similar protests in other areas, it is necessary
to request of the Association of Returnees to get more involved in
finding solutions and defusing tensions, the statement read.
The Vukovar-Srijem police, local civilian authorities and the Serb
community should intensify their cooperation.
The Independent Democratic Serb Party will also be asked to
urgently appoint substituted for the Tompojevci municipal council
councillors of Serb nationality who had left the area, and to
appoint all representatives at the municipal committee for the
establishment of trust, instead of the incumbent representatives
who had left the area, the statement said.
