support Croatia's aspirations towards joining Euro-Atlantic organisations, an under-secretary at the Italian Foreign Ministry, Umberto Ranieri, said at a meeting with his Croatian counterpart Ivo Sanader in Rome on Saturday. The meeting, which was part of regular consultations between the two countries, focused on the Kosovo crisis. The two officials stressed the need for finding a political solution to the crisis, which would be in line with a statement adopted by the G8 group at a recent meeting in Bonn.
