ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - During Wednesday's parliamentary discussion
on a bill on the organisation and scope of activities of ministries
and the state administration's bodies, the bench of the ruling
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) advocated the adoption of the bill
in the urgent procedure, whereas representatives of opposition
parties requested the regular procedure.
Opposition MPs maintained that proposed solutions were not the real
rationalisation of the state administration, as they do not suggest
cuts of costs and the number of employees. Therefore the proposals
present no improvement, opposition benches said.
They also held that the new organisation should be made by a new
government after the elections.
Deputies made a series of objections to concrete solutions. They
opposed the revocation of the Administration Ministry, since it has
very important function. Therefore, a member of the ruling HDZ,
Bosiljko Misetic, also had reservations about this move.
Sabor House of Representatives members opposed the proposal to
cancel the State Administration for Environmental Protection and
include it into the Physical Planning Ministry.
