RUGOVA DECIDES TO STAY IN KOSOVO - HIS ASSOCIATE

SKOPJE, April 20 (Hina) - A moderate Kosovo politician, Ibrahim Rugova, decided to remain in Kosovo where his roots are, said Rugova's close associate, Adnan Merovci, in an interview to Tuesday's issue of the Skopje-based daily "Fakti" in the Albanian language. "Mr. Rugova is in healthy and is in his house (in Pristina)." He lives in his home with his wife, three children, a close relative and his family. Since the end of last month, members of the Serbian special units, armed to the teeth, have been in Rugova's house as well, Merovci said. He stressed that Rugova's political stands are firmer than ever and therefore nobody should worry. Meeting were held for the daily Serbian propaganda and have no essential importance, Merovci added. He said he had come to Skopje to contact other associates of Rugova who were forced to leave Kosovo. Rugova has not given me any clear message for his associates, the intention of my stay in Skopje is primarily to explain the state and circumstance under which Rugova is in Pristina, Merovci said.
