MOSTAR, April 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union in Bosnia-
Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) Presidency on Monday assessed that by
imposing a week-long boycott on BH authorities and authorities of
the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which started on March 18 due
to the assassination of Federal Interior Minister Jozo Leutar,
Bosnian Croat officials have pointed to the public and
representatives of the international community at the difficult
position of Bosnian Croats.
The President of the HDZ BiH, member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina
Presidency Ante Jelavic, expressed his concern about a letter
forwarded by the US Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, in which
she assessed that the boycott was an obstruction to the
implementation of the Dayton Agreement.
Jelavic described the statement of the Party of Democratic Action
President Alija Izetbegovic, reading that the assassination on
Leutar was committed by Bosniak fools or Croat hard-liners, as
disturbing and hypocritical.
The HDZ BiH Presidency, which demanded the cancellation of the
Bosniak intelligence service, AID, decided today to request a
report on the work of intelligence services, and asked again the
international community to ban mujahedeens from Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
The HDZ BiH Presidency demanded the international community and
"partners in authority" to stop changing certain elements of the
peace agreement which leads to the centralisation and outvoting the
most numerous people in the country. The HDZ BiH Presidency also
requested the protection of cultural and national identity by
demanding its own education system and media.
They called on all Croat political parties to, along with the HDZ
BiH and Jelavic, organise an All-Croat peoples parliament in
Bosnia-Herzegovina which would contribute to creating equal,
constitutional and sovereign position of Croat people in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
