LASLOVO, April 19 (Hina) - Ten newly-built and reconstructed houses were on Monday handed over to the residents of Laslovo, a village in eastern Croatia. Seven houses, which belonged to the category VI (with the highest degree of
damage), were rebuilt, while the other three, less damaged, were reconstructed. The works were financed by the Reconstruction and Development Ministry and carried out by the "Zitex" company from Donji Miholjac and "Graditelj" from Varazdin. So far, 160 houses with the highest degrees of damage have been rebuilt in Laslovo. Another 30 houses, which were included in the reconstruction programme, will be finished by the end of May. In 1991, the village had 1,298 residents, mainly of Hungarian descent. Only eight families have returned because there is no water, power or other supply infrastructure in the village.
