ZAGREB, April 17 (Hina) - Governments are responsible for establishing responsible and democratic electronic media, participants in a conference of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) for journalists in south-east Europe said in Zagreb on Saturday. Whether electronic media are responsible and democratic should be the task of their internal councils or other independent bodies, representing pluralist social interests, the Croatian Journalists' Association (HND) said in a statement on the meeting. The two-day conference, organised by the IFJ and HND, was held as part of a European Union project, "Royamount process", which was started by European governments as a form of assistance in the stabilisation and development of good-neighbourly relations in south-east Europe.
