ZAGREB, Apr 16 (Hina) - The vice president of Zagreb's County Court,
Damir Kos, on Friday told reporters two witnesses who testified in
the trial of war crimes suspect Dinko Sakic complained of having
been harassed over the telephone by unknown persons.
Kos said the Court had notified the police and reiterated all
measures were being taken to make sure that witnesses have
undisturbed and safe access to the court building, including a
special method of entering and leaving the building.
"There is no possibility for the witnesses to be contacted by anyone
in front of the court building," Kos said.
He announced testimonies by Jesua Abinum and Ivo Senjanovic from
Split and Ivan Palcec from Rijeka for next week.
Kos said the panel of judges was expecting a complaint from attorney
Cedo Prodanovic, whose request that Lea Prasek, Ildika Ivanjic-
Petrovic, Nenad Poznanovic, Noemi Massarola, Mihajlo Maric, and
Josip Erlich be given injured party status had been turned down.
If Prodanovic's complaint was received by April 19, it would be
forwarded to the Supreme Court, Kos said.
Asked why some witnesses' faces were not being shown, the Zagreb
County Court vice president said that was a request made by the
witnesses themselves, which the panel of judges respects in the
belief that their faces are of no importance for the wider public.
Kos added he had no information on whether witnesses from the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Bosnian Serb entity had
received the summons to appear in court, or if they were willing to
come to Croatia at all.
"The court has been notified by the Croatian Embassy in Israel that
an Israeli witness has expressed the desire to testify, while
another, due to poor health, doesn't know if he will be able to
testify," Kos said.
