London and Zagreb have agreed to cooperate in training crime
experts in fighting money laundering, financial and computer
crime, as well as to exchange software for processing data on
criminal activities.
The joint successes of Croatian and British police forces in
fighting drugs smuggling has prompted Great Britain to offer
Croatia the signing of an international agreement on fighting drug
abuse, which Croatia will consider later. Namely, Great Britain has
considerable problems with fighting the smuggling of heroine,
which arrives from Turkey, via the so-called Balkan route, which
also runs through Croatia, Sacic explained.
The Assistant Interior Minister also met with the director of the
British state crime intelligence service, John Abbot. The two
officials agreed on cooperation in the field of technologies for
gathering information and analysing intelligence data on organised
crime.
